“The fact that this film was made without any financial aid, grants, or outside funding, and was shot over the course of thirteen months also makes Play With Fire an amazing feat in Canadian filmmaking.”

Play With Fire

Feature Length Drama

Director, Writer, Cinematographer & Editor

‘Play with Fire’ is a feature-length drama about twisted loyalty, loss, and despair. The film was produced with his frequent collaborating partner Michael Babiarz, and together they dived into a 13-month mammoth undertaking into pure independent filmmaking. Working with no budget and shooting in a guerrilla-style the lens captured something that was not only raw and visceral but something beautiful; something that transcended its location and touched the audience. “Play with Fire” is the heartbeat of many towns.

The film debuted at the ReelHeart International Film Festival, earning the prestigious "Best Cinematography" award for its breathtaking visuals. Adding to its allure, the soundtrack was crafted and performed by a talented ensemble of Canadian musicians, including Jesse Rankin, whose melodies perfectly complemented the film's cinematic artistry.
